Whalley Range Climate Connect Project, after the People’s Emergency Briefing

Manchester Council has a climate plan which is ambitious but light on local action. Lots of great work is already happening locally, but it’s hard to see it all alongside the political picture. Whalley Range Climate Connect is a new project to help you make sense of it all and decide how to act. Join a small group of volunteers to map who’s doing what and  learn how the Council and  the Greater Manchester Authority  make decisions that affect the climate and affect us all.,

The we can work out where campaigning will have the most impact. How will this work in practice?

What happens next?

What you will get involved in.....

Map who’s doing what, and what the council and Greater Manchester are planning. Then in March, join other groups and local people at a workshop to decide what will work and where we go next. 

What you’ll get out of being involved.,

The feeling of making something happen, an inside view of how climate decisions get made, introductions to councillors and campaigners, new skills, and like-minded people to connect with.

When is this happening?

November to March · No experience needed

A few evening meetings, plus a few flexible hours a week in January and February.
