This website exists to highlight all the amazing work by so many groups and organisations in Whalley Range that help to mitigate the Climate Emergency, reduce pollution, promote active travel, encourage biodiversity and much more. Whalley Range Climate Action Group hosts the website and organisations have their own pages with information about their activities and getting involved.
See the Explore page to get information about the full range of activities, which range from the work of the Tree Group in keeping our area "green", to campaigns around Clean Air, Active Travel with the Walk Ride group and regular meeting with our MP to press for better national policy. We are part of the city wide Manchester Climate Alliance which is a network of many groups across the city all working to mitigate the climate emergency, improve the quality of our green spaces and campaign for better "green" policies.
We must think at national and global levels to reduce the impact of the Climate Emergency. This website is about how we are planning to ACT LOCALLY in Whalley Range.
This means joining together to act in our on neighbourhood, while campaigning for change at Government levels, here and internationally.
The organisations listed here all welcome people who want to get involved, whether in big or small ways. See the Explore page to get information about the full range of activities. Different groups emphasise different things and we all aim to work with our local Neighbourhood officers and the councils Climate Change officers.
NO! Absolutely Not! You can choose what to get involved in and do as much or as little as you are available for. We are all busy with many aspects of life...and every person's contribution COUNTS! Choose something that interests you...
